We the members of Platform Reservation Remnant 
Band of the Shawnees, joined the American Me'tis 
Aboriginal Association Churh of the Me'tis Tribe
in the signing of a Treaty.  This treaty was 
signed on January 21,2008.  This treaty singed 
at the historic Alafia River Rendezvous.  At this 
signing we exchanged wampum belts as has the 
custom of our people in times past.
  This treaty is a way to recognize the rights of
our peoples to freely worship in the ways that our
ancestors did.  It is also our intention to recognize 
the rights of each tribes sovereignty.
   It is our desire that those visiting this site 
will arrive at a better understanding of each tribes
right to enter into treaties such as this.
